The nights are getting longer, and the days are cooling down. Sweater weather is here and that means it’s time to transition to a fall skincare routine. 

The change in weather can lead to redness or skin irritation. Cooler weather usually means drier air. Your skin reacts to the change in temperature and humidity, and you may notice increased dryness or sensitivity. But with a few tweaks to your routine, you can enjoy glowing skin all year round.
## Don’t Ditch the Sunscreen
The cooler weather may tempt you to skip the sunscreen. However, UV rays are strong during every season, so keep sunscreen as part of your autumn skincare routine. A high-quality sunscreen can protect your skin from sun damage and can keep your skin looking and feeling healthy all year round.
## Hydrate Your Skin
With drier air, it’s important to keep your skin moisturized. Find a cream that nourishes your skin and apply it daily. During the fall and winter months, a thicker moisturizer before bed can help your face stay hydrated and happy. Look for a moisturizer with collagen, elastin, or aloe to nourish your skin. Just make sure you’re not over-hydrating or clogging your pores with too much product. 
## Add Some Vitamin C
Vitamin C is important for your skin all year round. It protects your face from UV exposure, boosts collagen production, reduces brown spots, and can even out your skin tone. In the fall, vitamin C can nourish your skin and help repair any sun damage you experienced during the summer. Apply a vitamin C serum before your moisturizer for best results.
## Use a Humidifier at Home
In the fall, the air inside our homes gets drier too. Dry heat is another threat to your complexion, further drying out your skin and leaving your face feeling sensitive or irritated. Using a humidifier at home can reintroduce some moisture into the air, increasing moisture on your skin as well. Boost the humidity inside as soon as you turn on the heat.  
## Exfoliate Less Often
During the fall, use your exfoliants less often. When the temperature drops and the air is drier, put away your retinoid cream or strong exfoliants. These can dry out your skin. It’s important to keep exfoliating to remove dead skin cells but look for a gentle exfoliant that won’t dry out your skin. After exfoliating, apply a serum or moisturizer to rehydrate your skin.
